Story

Since the Theatre closed its doors in the face of Covid-19 last March, we have been keeping company with our communities and making work for audiences to enjoy every day online.

Our #PFTLightHopeJoy online entertainment series for all ages, has reached over 2.5 million people and we want to be able to continue to deliver this every day for our audiences until we can reopen our doors and gather together once more. The Telephone Club was introduced to give those feeling isolated and lonely an opportunity to chat with our actors and keep connected to the Theatre.

Jesse Fox, told us what it has meant to him to be part of PFT's ensemble during these current times. "I feel extremely lucky to have been part of LightHopeJoy for Pitlochry Festival Theatre over many months. On a personal note, it has been an absolute lifesaver having a creative focus and a creative community to be interacting with in these very strange and challenging times."

So far, since the beginning of lockdown in March, we have supported our creative community by commissioning 82 actors, writers, musicians, and other creative artists. We have reached an international audience of c. 3 million listeners for The Adventures with the Painted People, a co-production with Naked Productions for BBC Radio 3, in June, and have since gone on to commission and produce 25 new plays in our love letter to Scotland, Shades of Tay. We are currently planning work outside, beginning with The Magic of Christmas and we continue to be flexible and pertinent in these ever-changing times.

Check out our website to see all our work or to catch up on specific programmes.

Please donate to help us support our Artists so we can continue to commission work for our artists to create for you, our audiences, to enjoy online until we can be together once more.
