- general advice and support, helping to access other specialist services

- a family organiser role, helping to make sure families can navigate and access a range of other, specialist services

- parenting support through general advice, role modelling, and use of evidence-based parenting programmes.

- emotional wellbeing and healthy living courses

-access to three Supported Contact Centres (Carlisle, Eden, and Kendal) providing a safe setting for children to have supported contact and have a relationship with an absent parent or grandparent.

In 2021-2022 Cumbria Family Support supported over 600 children, young people and parents in over 150 families through their family support service and also ran Contact Centre Sessions fortnightly in each of their 3 centres overall supporting 18 families across the year to maintain contact between non-resident parent and children.

Paul really believes in what we do. As he told us:

As a father of twins I totally understand how difficult family life can be and the last couple of years especially have been hard for us all.

I have therefore decided to raise money for Cumbria Family Support who are an amazing local charity who provide support to families who are going through difficult times.

Cumbria Family Support has been supporting families in Cumbria since 1993. Our aim is to relieve and offer support to families experiencing stress or difficulty and help to reduce health inequalities and isolation, break cycles of disadvantage and make positive changes for the whole family.

At Cumbria Family Support we help over 150 families a year, meaning we help over 300 children happy, safer and more resilient.
