Story

Please consider 'paying it forward' for someone less well off by buying a Pay It Forward voucher that we will ensure is given to one of the many vulnerable individuals in Portsmouth facing homelessness. By bringing the voucher to our Cafe in the Park, itself a social enterprise Cafe offering employment opportunities for vulnerable people, they can claim a hot drink or a seasonal snack, or maybe receive a hot Christmas dinner at one of our Christmas lunch sittings during December. They can also have a friendly chat with our staff who can help advise them on where to go to get the support they need.

Pay It Forward is a way for the public to show they care by buying a voucher for someone less fortunate. In exchange for a £2 donation, those who are disadvantaged can get a hot drink or seasonal snack at the Café. We then ensure that the vouchers are given to someone facing multiple disadvantages such as homelessness, poverty and/or substance misuse and will offer signposting to support if appropriate.

For people battling homelessness, poverty or addiction, every single day can feel like a swim against a strong current. Waves of hope may come but an underlying belief the struggle must be fought alone can keep many from turning to those able to provide lasting help. A new drive in the heart of Portsmouth hopes to turn that tide and integrate those in need back into society, starting with a cup of coffee. - Portsmouth News
