Commonty Fund's Tayport Heritage Trail.

To assist the Commonty Fund to maintain the New Heritage Trail's 24 information boards installed throughout the town and update the Website on an ongoing basis, which contains all the display board information and much more,

Story

Please help the Commonty fund to preserve Tayport's Heritage for future generations to relate to and be proud of being associated with.

Tayport's history is one of transport (Ferry & Railways), Pioneering and Innovative industries (Engineering, Shipbuilding, Saw-milling, Textiles etc.) Exploration and seafaring (40 Ship-masters & Owners resided in Tayport in 1862) all supported by hard working Tayport folk.

All this activity resulted in the creation of a great Community spirit which has remained in the town to this day despite all the changes that have occurred over the last 200 years.

The maintenance of the boards and website is an essential service that the Commonty fund will be providing, the cost of which will amount to approx. £1500 per year, so with its limited resources any help you can give to the Commonty fund towards perpetuating this service into the future will be very valuable and much appreciated.
