Preserving St Mary’s, Supporting Our Community
St Mary’s Kemp Town is more than just a church. It's a place of worship, music, friendship, creativity, and community – and we need your help to keep it that way.
For generations, St Mary’s has been a landmark in the heart of Kemp Town, welcoming people from all walks of life. Today, alongside our regular worship and pastoral ministry, our beautiful church provides a home for concerts, choirs, community groups, cultural events, and activities that bring people together.
We are proud to be a welcoming and inclusive space, open to everyone, regardless of faith or background.
Why we need your support
Like many churches and community venues, St Mary’s faces considerable financial challenges. Maintaining a large, historic building is expensive, and the costs of keeping it open, safe, warm, and welcoming continue to put pressure on our limited resources.
We are currently seeking donations to help us meet several important needs:
- MAINTAINING OUR BECHSTEIN GRAND PIANO Our treasured piano is an important part of the musical life of St Mary’s, supporting concerts, recitals, and other performances. Essential repairs are needed to ensure that it can continue to be enjoyed by musicians and audiences alike.
- MEETING OUR UTILITY COSTS Heating, lighting, and powering a building of this size comes at a significant cost. Your support will help us meet upcoming bills and keep St Mary’s available for the many people and organisations who use it.
- COVERING OUTSTANDING AND ONGOING EXPENSES From essential maintenance and repairs to the everyday costs of running the church, there are numerous financial demands that must be met to keep St Mary’s functioning.
More than a building
