LYR is a groundbreaking sports charity, which aims to develop young people through physical activity and open access to rowing at all levels. We work with over 50 schools in the London area, and 20 in Leeds. Last year over 5,500 participants took part in our programmes.

Story

Royal Dolphins is a small but enthusiastic rowing club principally for disabled adults that meets at Royal Albert Docks in East London.

We are coached by trainers from London Youth Rowing (LYR) but need to raise money to pay our trainers and to ensure that we can continue our much-appreciated weekly rowing sessions. We are seeking to match the 5k generously offered by LYR.

Team members will undertake a sponsored row of 400 kms, the distance of London to Newquay, over the month of November. We will combine team members individual contributions according to their ability and experience which will primarily be using the rowing machine at home or in the gym but also include our efforts in the training tank, walking or out on the river if the weather allows.

We hope to raise funds online using a Just Giving page and will show our progress to interested sponsors through our website and social media.
