Christmas at Richard House Children's Hospice is usually a time of celebration and enjoyment for all our families; to share in festive treats and activities, and take a look back over the year that has passed.
This year, Covid-19 presents us with a new challenge, and our families are at risk of isolation once more. We are adapting to ensure this doesn't happen; planning virtual parties and grottos and still finding ways for Santa to deliver his presents!
We know that many of you will also be having a Christmas that looks very different this year, especially with the dramatic changes to our working lifestyles that 2020 has brought. Visiting Santa at Christmas is a tradition for many families, which sadly this year will not be possible. However, Richard Houses Santa will not be deterred from checking his list and will be live-streaming straight from his grotto in the North Pole this December.
On the 22 and 23 December, our Richard House Santa will be live on Zoom for you and your family to book in a 5 minute slot. You can use this to have your children chat through their letter to Santa; or to share your own Christmas wishes, no children required! To have your virtual visit, we ask you to donate a minimum of £3 per person to enter the grotto, which will directly help our Richard House families have the best Christmas possible.
Your support will help Richard House ring in the new year with a smile, knowing we can reassure our families that Richard House will continue to be there in 2021. We still need to raise £300,000 this year to cover the shortfall created by Covid-19, so now more than ever we depend on you to help us keep our doors open for families, who otherwise, would have nowhere else to go.
Thank you from everyone at Richard House and Merry Christmas!
