You know the drill, he's making a list, he's checking it twice but this year he's thrown down the gauntlet and has challenged us to race him back home to the North Pole, virtually of course! We're in with a chance of winning if we all take on the challenge. Even if you run, walk or jog just one mile a day well be able to reach the finish line and our collective target of 2659 miles to the North Pole.

Happy New Year to all our incredible Race Santa team members! We hope you all had a lovely festive break! With a final flurry of miles clocked up our final destination is ICELAND!
We didn't quite make it to the North Pole before Santa but we did get somewhere nice and snowy! Did you know in Iceland they celebrate a month of festive traditions, including a visit from the '13 Yule Lads', They are pranksters who each have a particular craving that usually reflects in their names; for example, Spoon Licker, Door Slammer, Skyr Gobbler, and Sausage Stealer. Despite their naughty behaviour, they can be friendly to well-behaved children and even bring them gifts.
A huge thankyou to all of you, with over 1000 miles clocked up and over £4,000 raised (including Gift Aid) you will help Barnardo's provide much needed support to children and families this winter, making sure they are warm, safe and happy!
After reaching an incredible 827.92 miles we have just passed the Faroe Islands where the Vikings settled in 9th century and where today 50% of their Electricity is renewable.
After clocking up a whopping 545 miles it's time to catch our breath and check out some of the incredible wildlife that can be see an in Orkney, if you are lucky you could spot a seal or an otter!
FACT: Did you know there are trees in Glasgow older than the dinosaurs!
