Supplying Dental Care in the Worlds Largest Refugee Camp - See Video for our dental projects.

RCF have a number of medical and dental projects in the worlds largest refugee camp in Bangladesh which has a population of one million Rohingya.

We currently operate a dental clinic that provides free dental treatment to 5,000 refugees every year who otherwise cannot afford or access a dentist. Our team of dentists work five days a week. Due to the lack of dental care for refugees, we provide dental care to refugees in other parts of the camp using our mobile service.

We are shifting our focus to preventing disease and thereby reducing the need to access dental care. Oral hygiene workshops are delivered to the refugees and we educate them on the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene. For a million refugees, there are only three dental clinics across the camps therefore we are expanding our reach and require donations to do this.

In addition to a specialist dental service, we provide medical services in the field of dermatology and ear care. A team of Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) surgeons operated on 32 patients with chronic infection and holes in their ear drum in October 2022. We are planning to send the team of surgeons later this year to provide the surgeries.

Hearing loss, especially for refugee children, has a significant impact on their life as it impedes their development and life becomes a lot more difficult. To address this, we are delivering a program by providing bone conduction headsets to children and adults with hearing loss. We will be collecting data from the pilot and this will be used to upscale the project allowing us to change lives.
