We hosted our first Relay for Life event here in Kilkenny in July 2013 at The Watershed complex. And continued to do so successfully for many years. We moved to a new venue, Kilkenny Rugby Club 4 years ago and our Community , Teams and Relayer's love the atmosphere that's created there. And cannot wait to get back there hopefully in 2022.

The Relay for Life Kilkenny committee and all the people who submit Teams and support are dedicated to sharing the Irish Cancer Societies mission and information regarding cancer strategies and resources available to anyone who is affected in any way by cancer. We also want to raise vital funds to support Research into new treatments and support the Night Nursing service and counselling , to name a few of the many programmes run by the Irish Cancer Society.

This year we cannot be together as a group of committed supporters of Relay For Life Kilkenny but we are going to come together virtually on July 17th 2021, a candle of hope ceremony will be live streamed at 10pm. You can include your candle , dedicated to a loved one.

From July 1st to July 17th we are making an ask that supporters will dedicate 24 hours in memory of that person you Relay for , that loved one undergoing treatment or sadly someone who no longer is with us.

24 hours your way, the 24 hours can be for example, a group walking 24 hours over the weekend of the 17th of July or over the period from the 1st to the 17th of July.

The 24 hours can be used to decorate candle bags, to host online quizzes, to host a tractor run , to challenge friends to an exercise challenge e.g; walk 24KM in 17 days, to hosting a virtual coffee morning the list is endless....

See the facebook , instagram and twitter accounts for details of how to get involved.
