Stockport Grammar School is a co-educational, independent day school for children aged 3-18 years. We recognise the value of each pupil as an individual, and the importance of nurturing every aspect of their personality and potential – intellectual, creative, emotional, physical and spiritual.

Story

This winter, food banks are expecting to give out a food parcel every nine seconds.

The SGS Junior School community are marking Christmas by taking part in the SGS Seasonal Showdown and giving food and donations to The Trussell Trust.

Pupils, parents and alumni are invited to submit a video of their SGS Showdown talent via the link below. Winners will be chosen from three categories - Parents, Alumni and Staff, Infants and Juniors. You can submit any kind of talent from cartwheeling on roller skates, a performance of your favourite poem, running 100 metres and solving a Rubiks Cube to singing your favourite song with a family member.

The prize for the Junior and Infants category is a £20 Amazon voucher.  The winner from the Parents, Alumni and Staff category will win a selection of SGS merchandise from the External Relations office. All winners will be chosen on the 10th December and announced in Assembly. Participants will be sent the code to join us at the Assembly from wherever you are across the globe!

Our school motto is vincit qui patitur (who persists, conquers). During these extraordinary times the school community has shown incredible resistance and creativity and we are looking forward to giving back to Stockport with this campaign.
