Story

From January 2020 to March 2021, while the country was in lock down St John Centre stayed open to serve the community and those hardest hit during this worldwide hardship. Our colleagues and volunteers supported over 470 households which is over 800 individuals, adults and children.

So this year we invite you to participate in Giving Tuesday, global celebration of generosity and kindness, from 30th November until 21st December.

We hope to raise £1,000 to ensure OT families in need enjoy this Christmas with dignity, a gift for the children and basic necessities. We also welcome gifts of time, talents, skills and voice. Lets raise our voice this Christmas and say:

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has. (Margaret Mead)

Ideas for your fundraising page via our JustGiving page

Donate part of your Christmas shopping budget or your works Secret Santa gifts to SJC: Rather than spending all your budget for Christmas stockings or Secret Santa presents on a high street shop, make a cash donation to us.

Throw a Christmas office party, hold a Christmas Jumper day or raffle at work for SJC: encourage everyone to donate cash for SJC. Ask your employer to match your donations.

Fundraise with your SJC group: are you part of one of SJC classes, keep fit, yoga, or are you running a group, toddlers and parents? Please consider running a fundraiser for us with your group leader and group.

Donate your last hour wage in December or your travel expenses if you work from home: ask your co-workers to do the same and your employer to match your donations.

Challenge yourself and friends to a run: completing a run is a fun group event, can make you feel good and help our community.

Give as you shop: If you are doing your shopping online, sign up to Easyfundraising a retail website which donates to charity every time you shop with them.

Send charity Christmas cards: consider sending a digital Christmas card. This year the painting class at SJC donated their Christmas card designs for you. Please contact us to have one or all.
