Story
The cost-of-living crisis persists, and its impact on communities and their limited resources is inevitable. The rising expenses of rent, mortgages, groceries, and fuel bills are forcing a greater number of people to confront life-altering choices just to survive. Those who were barely managing last year are now facing even more difficult decisions. Your support is crucial in helping us to support those who are at the highest risk.
As the school holidays approach, holiday hunger becomes more pronounced, and an estimated 8.4 million people across the UK will struggle to obtain sufficient food. This challenge affects working households, as well as older individuals or those with low or fluctuating incomes.
Older individuals are experiencing increased isolation, spending more time confined in their homes. They are less likely to venture outside for shopping or medical appointments and have limited interaction with others compared to their usual routines.
While many people may appear to be faring well on the surface, we know that behind closed doors, a different story unfolds. It is vital that we come together to support those who are silently struggling and provide them with the assistance they desperately need.
It is often said that during times of crisis we are able to see the worth of a community; how they support one another, how they help each other, and how they pull together to help strengthen their community. We need your support to make sure that we can support Salopians, and help them through this crisis.
