Story

Dream Big Ghana NGO has constructed over a hundred family Ecological Sanitation (EcoSan) toilets in Dzita and Dzita-Agbledomi to date, and two school EcoSan blocks. Our EcoSan family toilets can serve a maximum of 30 people and last for 30 years. The school blocks can serve up to 500 pupils and teachers, and also feature urinals and menstrual hygiene management spaces. Included in the costs is wages for three local masons who are employed year round to construct these units. On average, the toilets are emptied of compost once per year, producing 25.1 metres cubed of compost per toilet! However, nearly half of residents from Dzita and Dzita-Agbledomi still do not have access to an improved sanitation service and several of the school's current sanitation services do not meet international standards. Can you help us change this?
