Hello, we are Shirley Men's Shed in Southampton. We're about helping to build social connections and friendships, particularly for men in our area. We're a charity working to provide a place for anyone who wants to pursue practical interests at leisure, learn new skills and share their knowledge, or who just enjoys making and mending.

We're members of the UK Men's Sheds Association, and there are hundreds of Men's Sheds all around the country.

We aim to work on a wide range of projects that benefit people and organisations in the Shirley area, including care homes, young people, nurseries, local charities and groups across our community.

As a charity we are completely dependent upon grants and donations to fund our work. So far, we've raised enough money to lease a site for our Shed, build a concrete base and purchase the Shed itself. We've also been donated some pre-loved tools and equipment.

Now we need to kit it out with things like workbenches, tool storage, dust extraction equipment, heating, power saws, workstation lighting and security lighting. Also smaller items like water butts, some comfortable seating - and a coffee machine! And as more men join in and benefit from the work of our Shed, were bound to need more tools and so on. We have a target to raise £15,000 to make all of this happen. Can you help us by making a donation of any size? Our story so far:

We started with leasing the land and buying a small shed.

We then cleared the land to make space for the main shed / workshop.

Then we built the foundations for the main shed / workshop.

Then the new shed / workshop arrived.

The new shed / workshop has now been completed.

Now all we need to do is to kit it out!
