Southwell and District Lions Club is assisting Southwell Town Council in supporting Ukrainian families which have arrived in our community under the Homes of Ukraine scheme. Both organisations have donated financial support to help the families the purchase school uniforms and other school related equipment to help the students have the best start possible in their new schools.

Support has already been given under the scheme to a number of families in our community.

Whilst school uniforms are currently the main priority the Lions and the Council are keen to extend the scheme to enable support to be provided to the families for more general items and family possessions they may well have lost.

A number of families in our community have already generously opened their homes to Ukrainian refugees. We expect many more to follow in the coming months and we want to be in a position to be able to provide proper support to them.

We are asking for your financial help to allow us to achieve our objective which is to help these unfortunate people, who through no fault of their own, find themselves in this unenviable position, one which we cannot even begin to understand.

We are aware that many families are currently under financial pressure and we ask you to give whatever you feel able.
