The EBA are looking to spread some cheer on the neonatal units this Christmas. We are fundraising to supply staff and parents with goodies to raise spirits and brighten the festive period after what as been another challenging year.
This year we'd like to fundraise for some Christmas treats for staff and parents at TMBU and PRH SCBU. Everyone on the units, both families and staff, have faced another very challenging year with the ongoing Coronavirus situation. We would love to get some extra Christmas treats to the units, such as chocolates, snacks and fruit to help lift everyones spirits.
Please rest assured that Father Christmas little helpers have everything in hand already for making sure stockings will be delivered to the baby's on the units. This campaign is for additional Christmas treats for staff and parents.
Julie Lester, an EBA Trustee and Committee Member, says
'having a baby in neonatal care is a really difficult experience at any time of year, and it can feel even more difficult and isolated at special celebrations such as Christmas. My first born baby was in a neonatal unit over Christmas time, and I really appreciated anything that made that time feel a bit more normal and less lonely. Knowing others are thinking of you when you're in hospital with your baby makes all the difference. I also saw how dedicated the staff are and how they work so hard for the families even though they are away from their own family at Christmas.'
