Story

We did it!! Another epic bike ride undertaken by our St. Elizabeth's cyclists to raise money for the school and this time, the journey took us from Richmond to the Isle of Wight - around the island and back again! Our team completed the challenge over the weekend of the 8-10 October 2021 and are incredibly grateful for all the donations and support that has been given. Thank you!

After a successful 4-years of annual rides - twice to Paris, once to Brussels, then last year to Dorset (thanks to Covid putting paid to our Amsterdam plans) - we jumped into the saddle and cycled from Richmond to and around the Isle of Wight. Our team of riders cycled 137km on Day One, Richmond to Portsmouth, then jumped on the ferry to Ryde before cycling on from there to Sandown for an overnight stay. Day Two we cycled a loop of the Isle of Wight, (104km) and then, some riders cycled the return to Richmond on Day Three (another 137km). So a grand total of 378km (the longest ride of the five attempted).

At a time when all schools are desperately in need of funds - with Covid restrictions making any fundraising difficult - the 2021 cycle ride is particularly vital. So we set ourselves the highly ambitious target to raise £20,000: to help the school fund new equipment and facilities that enhance the learning and play environment for our children.

We are incredibly grateful to Savills estate agents in Richmond for kick-starting our fundraising efforts with their very generous donation of £1,000 to support our cycle team in reaching its target.

Please help us to reach our target by donating whatever you can and we'd like to publicly thank Cool Math Games for their sponsorship of the team: funding the branded cycle jerseys that all our cyclists wore on the ride.

Thank-you.
