Story

St Mary's is not just a fine Grade 1 listed building; not just a place where we mark religious festivals and the big life events of births, marriages and deaths. It is a welcoming place for all sorts of community events and activities.

In normal times, events and services at the church make a very important contribution to meeting our costs. Without them we have a substantial hole in our finances of about £350 per month which we need to fill for the duration of restrictions on social gatherings.

Looking to the medium term, like all old churches, there are always repairs to be done. These are specified by a formal 5-yearly inspection from a CofE approved conservation architect, and our recent inspection calls for lots to be done over the next few years. This cannot be achieved without financial support from the community, which is not just important in its own right, but is also essential to demonstrate to grant giving bodies that the church has community support.

Your financial support, whether it be a fund-raising project; a one-off donation, or a regular monthly payment is important to assure the future of the curch.

If you would like to make a regular monthly payment make the donation on our charity page on JustGiving by clicking on St Mary's Church Nettleton & Burton in the About the charity section further down this page.

If you would like further details about any aspect of the church and its fund raising, please contact our churchwarden Mrs Marje Caie (marje.caie@burtonwilts.org.uk).
