Story

Step Up for 2021 with Berkshire Health Charity supporting our NHS

Step Up and use 2021 to get fitter and feel great as you build your fitness, raise money for your local NHS and support the provision of enhanced care for local patients and their families.

You could run, cycle, walk or even hop! Because however you choose to Step Up you will be helping your local NHS.

Choose your distance, get sponsored and raise money for local patients and their families, and for the wellbeing of NHS staff.

You could Step Up and do:

10 walks up and down your stairs.

20 strolls in a day back and forth along the length of your street keeping socially distanced as appropriate.

30 hops to your garden gate and back every day for a week.

50 walking laps around your garden.

100 metre race against the clock - could you achieve it in 10 seconds? The current men's world record is 9.58 seconds, set by Jamaica's Usain Bolt in 2009, while the women's world record of 10.49 seconds set by American Florence Griffith-Joyner in 1988 remains unbroken.

Cycle for 60 minutes every day for a week, and you could probably reach 100k in that time!

Or whatever you personally fancy doing every Step will be good for you, and every £1 will be good for your NHS.

You can even do a Step Up at home challenge, for example if at home with children, set them a challenge and sponsor them for it. It could be cooking, cleaning/washing up, or making something creative.

So please be involved and Step Up for your local NHS - thank you.

Our NHS staff are working around the clock, supporting people with COVID-19 as well as keeping all our other services running. There are over 4,000 staff working in your local community and across more than 100 sites, including our community hospitals, health centres and our mental health hospital.

Set up your sponsorship page on here, and please do add photos of your Step Up. We love to see what you do.

Your generous fundraising means we can fund vital support services for patients, families and staff, and specialised medical equipment.

We really need your help, because during this pandemic we all know it is a difficult time for everyone, and more important than ever to carry on protecting our NHS staff, caring for patients, and caring for you and the community.

If you can Step Up, we thank you so much for your generosity and your sense of fun and involvement. And if you would like to leave a message of support for our incredible NHS staff teams, please do, because your message might make someone smile at the end of a very long day. Thank you very much indeed.

Please get in touch if you have any questions or would like any fundraising ideas or tips.
