Thanet Business Network (TBN) members are planning to scale the equivalent height of Mt. Everest, being 8,884m or 29,029ft by climbing Augusta Steps in Ramsgate on Saturday 21st May 2022.
TBN, a group of respected and trusted business people serving Thanet and the surrounding areas is helping to raise Dementia Awareness at the end of Dementia Action Week and are taking action themselves to raise funds for East Kent Independent Dementia Support (EKIDS).
EKDIS, an independent charity is staffed entirely by volunteers whose aim is to help and support people and their families across East Kent who are living with Dementia or memory problems. EKIDS provides support through informal gatherings with a number of coffee mornings across Thanet and a monthly group in Canterbury. The charity also organises trips out such as afternoon tea, visits to the Spitfire Museum at Manston, this year a trip on the River Medway.
EKIDS is wholly dependent on donations from the public but because the charity is staffed by volunteers all of the income is either spent directly benefiting EKIDS members or helping to promote the charity to reach local people who may not have much in the way of support.
