This appeal was first launched in April 2020, and has been extended several times providing support for staff and patients.

Our staff responded brilliantly to help the Covid-19 efforts and we are grateful to them for the valuable role they played.

As a country we have moved into a new phase of managing Covid-19.

But the pandemic put intense pressure on our people and the wider NHS system.

We know this has taken a toll on some of our staff, with the signs of higher levels of anxiety and stress being shown in the months ahead.

Throughout the pandemic you have supported us, and we are so very grateful.

As we learn to Learn to Live with Covid-19, our focus for this fund is changing.

We are moving away from an Emergency Appeal to take action to support the wellbeing and resilience of our staff.

The money you donate today however small will be used to support our work wherever the need is the greatest. For example, going towards improvements to our green spaces or to fund initiatives that help our staff unwind and recover.
