Story
Mediation is a service in which enables people in disagreement to communicate effectively about the relevant issues with the aim of reaching an agreement and moving forward. It is a voluntary service and mediators do not take sides; their job is to remain impartial and offer everybody involved a chance to be heard. The family are involved in the writing of an agreement based on what has been decided.
Our service differs from the average family mediation service, which deals with the technicalities surrounding a family in the process of separating. Our focus is on helping people communicate with each other about difficult issues, maintaining harmonious relationships between family members and ultimately allowing for greater well-being of the individuals involved.
Examples of the types of cases we work with are teens and parents not getting on, separated parents struggling to co-parent and manage contact, and whole family groups looking to manage conflict more effectively at home.
In order for us to be able to continue to deliver the service at low cost to families, we need to raise funds to cover our costs. This is where you can help us .....
