Teifi Marshes Nature Reserve provides the perfect opportunity to see wildlife and experience the beauty nature has to offer. We would like to enhance the visitor experience by installing a new 600m boardwalk. This will allow visitors to truly immerse themselves in the wildlife and habitats at the reserve.
The boardwalk will be to a high specification, with recycled plastic base materials giving it the longest life possible, and timber upper structures for aesthetic and maintenance benefit.
It will create a circular route where there currently is none and will be free to access for local members and residents.
The route will provide access through the reedbed and wet woodland part of this spectacular nature reserve, allowing visitors to immerse themselves fully in the glorious habitats of this Site of Special Scientific Interest.
Because of the high specification to give it a long life, the project is costed at £96,660 in total. We have already been successful in raising £77,328 towards these costs from Welsh Government through their Enabling Natural Resources and Well-being in Wales (ENRaW) Grant scheme, which is fantastic news, and funding for which we are incredibly grateful.
We have also already ring-fenced £5000 of our own funds and have made an application to a charitable Trust for a further £10,000.
That leaves us with around £5,000 to raise to make the new boardwalk possible.
