The campaign has now expired but it's not too late to support this charity.
Visit the charity's profileThis project is being carried out in collaboration with The Welbodi Partnership - a maternal health charity working in Sierra Leone aiming to ensure all women and children have access to essential healthcare services.
The CRADLE Project will fund:
- Roll out of over 300 CRADLE devices across 2 districts in Sierra Leone. These novel handheld monitors conduct vital signs measurements to identify women at risk of pregnancy complications. These devices have led to a 60% reduction in maternal deaths in preliminary trials.
- Provide 3 bursaries for a teenage pregnancy mentorship scheme. This aims to improve access to antenatal care, provide nutritional advice, and guidance on setting up businesses to secure a regular income.
- Support the new maternal health research group looking at reducing maternal mortality and morbidity in Sierra Leone. This research team will include medical students and postgraduate O&G doctors in collaboration with nursing and midwifery teams.
We are grateful for any kind donations towards this extremely worthy cause!
