Story

Stuart Thom, a Scotsman from Melrose now living in Belfast, has a close connection with Doddie Weir and supported the Foundation in March 2018 by organising an Ireland/Scotland rugby legends golfing event at The Royal Belfast Golf Club. Following on from the success of that event Stuart is planning a larger more ambitious event, The Great Rugby Cycle. The event is a bike ride from John OGroats to Lands End in March 2019. The baton will leave The Royal Belfast Golf Club on the 3rd March to make its way to John OGroats to start the cycle. Two rugby legend golf events are planned at The Royal Burgess Golf Club in Edinburgh on Friday 8th March and at The Royal Mid-Surrey Golf Club on Friday 15th March with the Peloton arriving at Lands End on the 19th March 2019 safely returning the baton back to Royal Belfast on the 20th March 2019. Stuart will be joined along the way by ex-international players, sports stars and celebrities raising awareness and funds for the Foundation.
