Story
Over 70% of Malawians live below the international poverty line of $1.90 per person per day. We work across the Balaka District of Malawi, which is still recovering from Cyclone Idai last year. The region is short of 86 classrooms, leaving over 5,500 children to learn under the trees. Extreme weather during the rainy season makes learning exceptionally difficult, preventing children from getting an all year round education.

We have a PROVEN solution. The Mlambe Team enables communities to builds schools using sustainable building techniques that are environmentally and economically sound, and socially sustainable.

Last year we helped hundreds of children in the Nankhono School. This year, with your help, we want to help the Nkhonde School. It has 2,032 pupils and just 8 classrooms, meaning over half its pupils are currently learning outside.
Our work is about empowering people to lift themselves out of poverty; we provide equipment and training that allows people to do just that. Our schools are built by the community for their children, so they can get the proper education these children so justly deserve, and we make this happen through your donations.
