Story
Regenerate has been running youth projects on the Roehampton estates for the last 20 years. Never has there been such a challenging time for the children, young people and their families.
This has been a time for us to respond in new ways.
With schools and youth clubs not providing daily meals and activities, there are serious concerns for the welfare of hundreds of local children and young people. We have partnered with Rackets Cubed (sports charity) and Heathmere primary school and set up a scheme called 'The Roehampton Community Box'.
Thanks to be peoples incredible generosity we are now providing community boxes each week to around 250 of the most exposed families. These boxes are full of food as well as information and fun activity packs. We plan to run this until at least September.
Alongside this we have set up a community outreach scheme called 'The Roehampton Community Knock' where we are communicating with every household on the Roehampton estates and offering information on how to access mentoring, on line youth programs and vital services.
As well as this we are continuing to create new employment and training opportunities for young people and young adults via our social enterprises 'The Feel Good Bakery', growing and harvesting salad and veg with Growhampton and our new 'Feel Good' mobile coffee tuk tuks.
Thank you so much for your support. We are looking for additional funds to support children, young people and their families through this crisis and as they get on their feet again.
