Story
16 years after running the Marathon des Sables The Toughest Footrace on Earth Vision for a Nation CEO Tony Hulton is now taking on a new ultra-marathon challenge in aid of our vital work to make basic eye care more accessible in the developing world.
Starting at 8am on Sunday 22nd March, Tony will be again testing his endurance over 250km in the highly challenging Ultra X Sri Lanka.
Over the course of 5 days, he will complete a total elevation of 3,300m through rainforests and tea plantations, battling with over 30° heat and 80% humidity.
Tony has run marathons in Manila, Harare, Colombo, Basra, Sarajevo, Singapore and competed in other +100km endurance events, but he is expecting this to be the toughest yet.
His target is to raise £10,000 to support VFANs nationwide primary eye care programme in Ghana and vision screening projects in Sri Lanka.
Please consider sponsoring Tony in this marathon effort!
