We raise vital funds to make MTW Hospitals an outstanding, patient friendly provider by providing additional equipment, services and amenities, above what the NHS can currently provide, improving the care received and health outcomes across the areas in which the Trust operates.

Story

Good luck to Paritosh Solanki (Tosh), Clinical Pharmacist at Maidstone Hospital, who is taking on a unique fundraising challenge at one of the world's most famous race courses. The challenge is due to finish at the end of July 2021.

Tosh is walking 167 miles to cover 100 laps of Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire which covers 179 acres and is leased from the Crown Estate. The racecourse has been used for filming many times most notably three times in James Bond productions. Ascot Heath is a 2.7km loop trail located near Ascot, Berkshire, England that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, and trail running.

He has been inspired by the exceptional work of colleagues throughout the pandemic and funds will support staff including nurses and Clinical Support Staff (CSW).

Tosh started his challenge on Saturday 13 February and has already completed 60 laps!

Any amount will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Why am I doing this walk?

The Nurses, CSWs, Doctors, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, my colleagues in pharmacy, cleaners, tea ladies all do an amazing job during this pandemic - working tirelessly and putting their own lives at risk, in looking after the vulnerable sick patients. You all are amazing!

Since, joining Maidstone Hospital (February 2020), I have been working with a fantastic multidisciplinary team who I cannot thank enough for accepting me as part of MTW team. I am always welcomed and greeted with a smile whenever I visit any ward during my day-to-day job. This 167 Walk fund raising event is my personal way of saying Thank You and recognising the hard work of all the NHS staff. The money I raise will go towards funding the Nurses and Paediatrics department.

Stay Safe and keep Well.

Keep Smiling - Be Kind to each other - Kindness always makes everyone Happy.

Duration:

Start: Saturday 13/02/21 End: The end of July 2021

Why over such a long duration? Unfortunately, I can only achieve my walks over the weekend and when there are no events at Ascot Race course.

NB: Those that dont know where Ascot is, it is in Berkshire County west of London.
