Following the invasion of Ukraine on the 24th of February, we saw an unprecedented demand for protective safety kit from the freelance journalist community.

Journalists on the ground in Ukraine were unprepared for this war and found it especially difficult to source the essential equipment needed to stay safe. We worked with our partners in the Journalists In Distress network to provide vital safety kits and we are now working to provide much needed first aid kits - the next step in our mission to protect as many journalists as possible.
