Visit the charity's profileWCPT and physioswiss, our hosts for WCPT Congress 2019 in Switzerland, need your help to fund delegates from low and lower middle-income member organisations to attend congress in May 2019. A bursary programme will provide a full congress registration, accommodation, and travel assistance for successful applicants.
Physical therapists in many of these countries have very limited access to high quality continuing professional development, the latest research, or global networking opportunities. This results in challenges to advance the role and practice of the profession to improve population health. Giving individual physical therapists the opportunity to attend a WCPT Congress can benefit not just the individual, but can have a lasting legacy in their own country for the profession and public.
The bursary support has definitely provided a big support to my career and ultimately to the physiotherapy profession in my country. Similar supports to other physiotherapy members from low-income countries should be continued so the legacy is carried forward. On behalf of everyone who received the support, I would like to extend warm gratitude to those who donated and contributed to this important bursary, which allowed me and many others to attend and present at the congress which otherwise would not have been possible.
