Story

Worthing Food Foundation began as a mutual aid foodbank during the first Covid lockdown. We provide food and other household essentials to our neighbours experiencing food insecurity. As well as the Worthing Food Foundation self-referral foodbank and our uniform exchange, we also run the Worthing Vegan Food Bank and the Power Bank, which aims to help those struggling with high energy costs.

Official figures show that more than 12,000 people - or 10% of the population - go hungry, skip meals or don't have access to enough healthy food. Last year we distributed the equivalent of 120,000 meals - that's one for every resident of Worthing. The continuing costs of living crisis means that more and more people need our help.

We are also active partners in the 'Right to Food' campaign with Ian Byrne MP, The Co-op Food Justice Campaign and others to bring together national campaigns, politicians, food banks, councils and activists to shape a coordinated Right to Food movement across the country. Our aim is to enshrine the human right to food in UK law and take meaningful action to make sure people get the food they need.

Thank you so much for your support. We are so grateful for the wonderful Worthing community.
