All-Terrain Wheelchair Fundraiser

We are raising the remaining funds required for us to purchase an all-terrain wheelchair to make Harris accessible for all. The wheelchair is £4,000 with £2,366 already raised. £1,000 from Crown Trust and the rest from a charity exhibition.

Story

We are holding a raffle to help us raise the remaining funds required to purchase an all-terrain wheelchair to make Harris accessible for all. We have currently raised £2,366 out of the £4,000 required. £1,000 from Crown Estate and the rest from a charity art exhibition.

The wheelchair would be available to book online for free and used on beaches, in the sea, up hills, the list is endless!

Raffle info:

Tickets are £5, so for example a donation of £20 would entitle you to 4 tickets. Entries without contact information will be classed as a donation and no tickets will be given.

The West Harris Trust is a community charity responsible for managing 6578ha of land on the west side of the Isle of Harris, in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. The Trust was formed when the crofting townships of Losgaintir, Seilebost, Horgabost, Na Buirgh and Sgarasta Mhor were purchased from the Scottish Government in January 2010. We believe that a long history of declining population and limited opportunities can be turned around by local endeavour and that there is a bright future for our 120-strong community. The Trust is a registered Scottish Charity SC041920 and company limited by guarantee SC347176 Our key aims: - Revitalize the community by attracting new residents and creating new housing and employment opportunities - Create environmentally sustainable energy for the community via small hydro and micro-wind projects - Conserve and increase understanding of our stunning natural heritage
