Cllr Vivian Achwal was appointed as the 822nd Mayor of Winchester on 18th May 2021.
Cllr Achwal will be supporting Winchester Youth Counselling, Friends of the Family and The Eight Foundation under the umbrella charity, The Mayor of Winchester's Charities. Winchester Youth Counselling is honoured to be one of charities chosen and we would like to thank the Mayor for recognising our work.
On behalf of the Mayor of Winchester's Charities, Winchester Youth Counselling is holding the Watercress Way Sponsored Walk on Sunday 15th August 2021. This will raise much needed funds for all three of the Mayors Charities.
The 10 mile long, Watercress Way Sponsored Walk, will start at Abbey House, Winchester and will follow the Watercress Way to Itchen Abbas and then finish back at Abbey House.
For some, 10 miles may be too big a challenge but please dont be put off, you can complete half the circuit and finish the walk at Itchen Abbas, (but please make your sponsors aware of your target and organise transportation back to Winchester). Maps will be provided on the day and there will be marshalls and signposts along the way to guide you.
In order to take part in this event, we rely on you securing sponsorship. We are not charging you to take part but it would be amazing if you could make a voluntary donation to help us cover the organisational costs.
Suggested donations:
£20 per family
£10 per adult
£5 for under 25s
Come and join us and Walk the Watercress Way to support and raise funds for local charities. Get your friends and family to support you by, joining you, sponsoring you or just cheering you on. Help us make a difference!
