Story

On Tuesday 4th August 2020 a terrible explosion ripped through Beirut. The explosion destroyed part of the docks, warehouses, and buildings in the surrounding city, home to around 2 million people. At least 130 people were killed and about 5,000 were injured.

The Governor of Beirut has said that as many as 300,000 people have been made temporarily homeless and losses may be in the region of £8-11bn.

Normally, during a crisis like this, Wellesbourne and District Lions would be out in the local community, rattling buckets to help raise funds to help bring relief to those affected. Please help us as we join other Lions clubs to raise funds online. Every penny you can spare will help us to bring relief where it is needed.
