Story
Wales First Centre For The Rehabilitaion of Additonal Needs Animals.
Our rescue has been hugely involved with the campaign to ban the third party commercial sale of puppies and kittens for a number of years. Lucys Law 4 Wales is at last a reality and will become law in September 21. We have extensive expertise in the rehabilitaion of ex breeding and puppyfarmed dogs and unsaleable puppies. We have rescued, rehabiltated and rehomed thousands of them since 2004 through our network of foster homes and we must be ready to accomodate those dogs who will be disposed off once breeders who sell via third parties can no longer operate later this year.
In additon to our work with puppyfarmed dogs, ex breeders and unwanted and abandoned dogs we also rescue cats, kittens, rabbits, guinea pigs and other small furries. The centre would enable us to take in more emergencies until a foster space is available. It will also allow us to house wildlife emergencies until a place can be secured with a specialist rescue. To expand our respite care scheme caring for the pets of owners in crisis. Our own centre would allow us to assess each animal on arrival in the rescue and plan the best next steps for each one.
Our wonky animals are such an important part of our work. Those with life challenging illness and injury are never turned away and we can provide even better care for them, including the paraplegic and amputees that come in to our care. The centre will give these extremely damaged animals a future.
We have an amazing team of volunteers who are dedicated to making a difference to the lives of animals in need and by utilisng their commitment and expertise we can concentrate all of our fundraising towards our actual rescue work and veterinary costs instead of meeting wage costs. Not having paid staff does not reduce the level of care we are able to offer but does mean that we are better able to fund the expensive costs of mending the many wonkies we care for.
Please support us in any way you can, any donation large or small will help us achieve our goal and save the lives of animals in desperate need of help.
