Befriending service
A gift donation of £10 could provide one hours support.
Our befriending service offers face to face and telephone support, helping people who feel isolated and lonely or struggle with motivation and confidence to do the things they used to enjoy - taking them shopping, out to parks, posting letters.
Mrs AT: " I say this again, you have been the only charity looking after me so well. Your calls make me so happy, I was having a bad day, but I feel a lot better now after our chat".
Mrs JP " I have not had a phone call asking about my wellbeing for the longest time, I'm so humbled, I just want to chat to someone friendly. Lockdown has been such a lonely experience".
Good Neighbours service
A gift donation of £20 could provide one hours support.
This service provides help to older people with small tasks that they cannot manage on their own, whether it is one off or occasional help, to attending a health appointment, sorting paperwork or getting to grips with a computer and shopping.
"Age UKHHB had a referral for a gentleman who returned from hospital and had no food at home, one of our staff drove to the gentleman's address and delivered an emergency food package. He was very grateful ".
