The reason...
The last few years we have taken a group of asylum seekers and new refugees to the Arabic Arts Festival in Liverpool. It has been a joy to see so many smiling faces as days out are very rare for those in the asylum system. They struggle hugely with mental health, having many miles between them and home, and family. They have often endured atrocities that we can never imagine.
We run a weekly asylum hub where they can come for advice and support - but it is nice to be able to take them out for a day where they can forget their worries, enjoy a fun day with friends and enjoy the cultural events of the day.
We have not been able to secure grant funding this year, so we are asking the public and our supporters to help fund this instead. We need funding for a coach and food for the day. We usually organise a picnic at the park for them.
