With generous and transformative support from Eddie Van Halen over the years and now continuing through his son Wolfgang, The Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation is pleased to announce that the Van Halen Family's $1,000 contribution, combined with donations from generous supporters across the country, has resulted in the success of this campaign.

The Taylor High School band and piano programs are rapidly growing and need your help! "Donations to the Taylor High School music program would allow for our growing program to grow even more! In the past three years, the band program has grown significantly. The marching band alone has grown from 43 members to 100 members in that short time. Our instrument inventory cannot keep up with this rapid growth. We are in need of new instruments to limit instrument sharing and to replace the old instruments that are in disrepair." - Brian Wieczorek, Director of Bands.

Tubas, saxophones, a bass clarinet, flutes, a vibraphone, and digital pianos with headphones are needed to help reduce sharing and replace instruments that are beyond repair in this growing music program.

Schools participating in the Adopt A School campaign are qualified through MHOF’s vetting and eligibility process, giving donors confidence that their investment is protected and sustainable, impacting students for a minimum of 10 years (the lifespan of an instrument in a school setting.) Donations made to this school’s fundraising campaign go directly to The Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation (MHOF). MHOF then purchases the specific instruments the school is in need of at a substantially discounted price and the instruments deliver directly to the school.
