Escalating violence in the Middle East 

Women, men and children are being killed and losing their homes as violence intensifies across the Middle East.

In Lebanon, Israeli airstrikes have killed more than 50 people, injured many and caused tens of thousands to flee their homes fearing for their lives.

In Gaza, the borders have been shut once again cutting off critical supplies of food, water, fuel and medicine which are desperately needed. In the West Bank, the closures of checkpoints continue to affect daily life with access to basic services like hospitals cut off creating deadly consequences for Palestinians.

Despite increasingly difficult circumstances, ActionAid's local partners are continuing to deliver life-saving assistance in countries where we work across the region.

We are also calling for all parties in the conflict to abide by international humanitarian law and immediately refrain from unlawful attacks. They must take all feasible precautions to protect civilians from harm.
