Story
Many of you will already know Brian, Lisa and Velga from our Aberdeen office.
On Saturday, 28 February 2026 they will be walking across 20 feet of wood embers burning at 1,236 degrees Fahrenheit!
Why are they taking on such a scary challenge you might be asking?
Every day, they see the incredible difference adoption and fostering can make to children who’ve had the toughest of starts in life. By braving the flames, they want to show their commitment to supporting these children and their families and to helping more people discover the life-changing journey of adoption and fostering.
Please consider donating to their fundraising campaign. Even the smallest donation will make a big difference.
Would you like to take on this challenge too on behalf of St Andrew's Children's Society?
You can, on Sunday, 1 March 2026!
Everyone who signs up will receive training from Karen Sterling of Blaze Firewalk. She will ensure all participants are fully prepared to take part safely.
The event will take place at the Aberdeen Science Centre.

Rough idea of the times for the event:
16.00 Registration
16.30 Training begins
18.00 Firewalk (spectators arrive)
18.30 Debrief and certificates then it's Celebration time
We would be grateful if everyone who signs up aims to raise £150 for St Andrew's Children's Society.
Minimum age is 14 years old.
Please contact Tara Macgregor if you would like to take part - taramcgregor@standrews-children.org.uk. Spaces are very limited, so please don't delay to let Tara know if you want to take on this challenge.
