Story
Help Us Celebrate 10 Years of Access Adventures!
In November 2014, Jane, Clare and Tim sat in Jane's living room and dreamed up Access Adventures. By 2015, it was officially registered as a charity.
We have come a long way in ten years. Growing from supporting just 38 people in our first year to nearly 500 in 2024.
The Access Adventures team is as passionate as ever about bringing adaptive adventure sports to people of all disabilities, and our community continues to inspire us. We have witnessed so many incredible stories and supported thousands of people over the years.
Access Adventures is more than just sport; we are family. An amazing, supportive community with a shared passion for living life to the fullest, refusing to let disability stop us from getting the most out of our lives.
As we celebrate our 10th anniversary, we desperately need your help to secure the future of our community. Access Adventures relies on fundraising & donations to significantly subsidise costs for participants. It's an extremely tough climate for charities at the moment. We will struggle to continue doing what we do without increasing our fundraising income. Your support will help us thrive for another decade!
How you can get involved....
Take on a challenge:
Set up your own personal fundraising challenge. Why not try a 10km run, push, cycle or swim. Or even 10,000 steps? Complete it all in one day, or spread it out over a few weeks.
Be creative & design your own unique 10 for 10 challenge to help raise funds for Access Adventures!
Support in other ways:
Organise a pub quiz, bake sale or any event that feels right for you.
If you can't take part this time, consider making a one-off donation or becoming a regular giver.
Sponsor an athlete:
Transform someone's life through adaptive sport! We have a variety of options to provide bursaries for those in financial need.
£200 will sponsor a child & their family to attend a watersports day. £1000 will sponsor an athlete through a waterski/ wakeboard development pathway. £3000 will sponsor an individual to attend a life-changing alpine ski camp in Colorado (more details are on our website)
