Story
This is my first time running a Marathon to raise money for charity and it just so happens to be one of the most famous in the world, the London Marathon!
I was initially supposed to do this last year, but a broken collarbone sustained in a cycling accident scuppered this plan and put me out of action. Now fully healed, I am back in training again and pounding the pavements to raise money for Ace Centre, a charity that helps disabled children and adults that have lost the ability to speak to communicate again.
Ace Centre specialise in helping people who have lost the ability to speak through conditions like Cerebral Palsy or have been diagnosed with a deteriorating condition such as Motor Neurone Disease (MND), to learn how to communicate with the world. This can be via a technology-based solutions such as an Eye Gaze computer or a low-tech paper-based symbol or text based solution.
You can see more about the vital work they do here: www.acecentre.org.uk
I’m so excited to be taking part and raising money for this vital service!
Thank You
Simon
