Story
Across the Bridges for little hearts
The Tower Midwives Team are taking on a 13-mile challenge across London’s bridges, from Putney Embankment to Tower Bridge — to raise awareness for children born with congenital heart disease and money for ECHO.
The tower team recognise that this isn’t just a fundraising challenge. The route has a very special meaning. Many of the families supported by the Tower Midwives Team are also supported by ECHO and for these families, crossing the bridges into central London can become a familiar part of their lives when they need to spend time at St Thomas’ Hospital and the Evelina London Children’s Hospital.
What might be an enjoyable walk through London for us can represent something very different for a family travelling back and forth for appointments, treatment, tests and hospital stays, often during incredibly difficult and uncertain times.
So, the team are walking those 13 miles for the families they care for and alongside ECHO. They will be starting at Putney Embankment and making our way across the bridges towards Tower Bridge, putting one foot in front of the other to raise money for a charity that makes such a difference to children, young people and their families.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help ECHO continue to support families when they need it most. Please support our challenge if you can. We’d be so grateful for your donation and we’ll be thinking of all the wonderful families who inspire us along the way.
13 miles. One team. So many families.
Thank you for supporting us and ECHO!
