We need to raise £15,000 to pilot a 12 month Bereavement Educator role which will work with schools to support children and young people as they grieve.
We need to raise £15,000 to pilot a 12 month Bereavement Educator role which will work with schools to support children and young people as they grieve.
Through our work, we’ve seen how schools struggle to support bereaved siblings—not through lack of compassion, but because they simply don’t have the training or experience to navigate such delicate situations.
We know that the biggest impact happens when support begins immediately after a child’s death, and with your help, we can ensure no grieving child feels alone.
Your support will help us to launch a new service for schools, which will provide early intervention training for staff, equip teachers with emotional resilience and coping strategies, offer follow-up therapeutic support for grieving students and develop a bereavement resource pack.
The role will take a bespoke approach to supporting a school community following the death of a pupil.
“School left me to it.”
“If I cried, they just told me to go outside.”
“I wanted school to talk to me, but they didn’t.”
Over 12 months, we will:
✔ Provide early intervention training for staff.
✔ Equip teachers with emotional resilience and coping strategies.
✔ Offer follow-up therapeutic support for grieving students.
✔ Develop a bereavement resource pack for schools to use long-term.
