Adrian's contribution to Ampleforth and the wider world was significant. He was a loyal friend to the College and Abbey, as well as a regular pilgrim to Lourdes with the Ampleforth Pilgrimage. He now stands as one of Ampleforths greatest benefactors, through the incredible gift of his Bursary Trust which currently funds up to 50% of fees for 9 students in the College.

Adrian was the eldest of eleven children, one of three brothers who went to Ampleforth. He spoke fondly of his time at the College, with the sense of independence that it cultivated in him. This stuck with Adrian throughout his life as he went on to Oxford, the Coldstream Guards and then into the world of business. He wished to enable children from a similar family background to have the opportunity to go to a school which would stretch them and increase their confidence to lead and hold their own in later life.

Donations made in memory of Adrian through this page will be put towards the Ampleforth College Bursary Fund, so that Adrian's friends, like him, can help more students access the education he so greatly valued.
