Our Story
Did you know that 1 in 10 people in the UK are believed to be dyslexic?
Commonly associated with difficulties in spelling and reading, dyslexia is often a misunderstood, life-long and hidden condition that, without the right support, can significantly impact an individual's confidence, self esteem, education and employment outcomes.
Despite growing awareness about the condition, today, millions of adults in the UK remain un-diagnosed. They are struggling to understand why they struggled at school, and continue to struggle today, both in the workplace and everyday life. This needs to change...
The ADC approach
At the Adult Dyslexia Centre (ADC), we believe that everyone's experience of their dyslexia is unique. We know that dyslexia doesn’t disappear when school ends. For many adults, it continues to affect confidence, careers, relationships and make you feel alone. That’s why we’re here.
Each year our dedicated team of assessors and staff, support over 1,000 contacts through a range of services from our helpline, support groups and diagnostic assessments, to offering transformational advice for adults, employers, parents and teachers. But we can't do it alone.
This Campaign
Through this campaign, we are hoping to raise unrestricted funds to fund our helpline, courses, online support groups and core services, ensuring that more adults get the support they need and receive a live changing diagnosis...
What our Supporters Say?
"You have helped me piece things together, be more honest with myself, ultimately understand myself, and to be myself!’"
"Confidence building is just one of the many great things about ADC; it helps people to help themselves and therefore help them to help others."
Thank you for your support. Together we can build a world where all adults feel informed, connected and empowered to positively embrace dyslexia in their day-to-day lives… and thrive!
