Adventure Buddies

A community group set up to provide a monthly meet up for school aged children with Profound & Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) and complex needs who are full time wheelchair users or have very limited mobility.

The Dorset Children's Foundation was set up in 2013 with the sole purpose of helping improve the lives of sick and disabled children. All our overheads are covered by our charity shops and online sales. Every penny you donate via JustGiving goes directly to your chosen cause.

Story

Welcome to our new community group Adventure Buddies . This is an inclusive group that's been set up to enhance the life of children of school age with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) and complex needs living in the Dorset area.

The children are full time wheelchair users or have limited mobility. They have difficulties in all aspects in their day to day life. The aim of the group is to provide a meet up once a month for the children and their siblings to take part in fun activities that cater specifically for their needs and that siblings can also join in with.

The group also offers an essential support network to parents and carers of children with complex needs. The other aim is to provide fun days out for the children and their families. This could be a fun ice skating session, bowling, a fun picnic with sensory sports.

As a new group we aren't able to secure any funds so will rely on small donations from individuals to get things up and running. Please donate what you can to give a fun day out for an Adventure Buddie. Thank you.
