Holy Trinity Church in Idle is a busy and growing church at the centre of the local community. We host many church services and events throughout the year that bring hundreds of families and children together for worship, learning and entertainment.
We feel that an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) will provide the community with 24-hour access to vital life saving equipment in the event of a cardiac arrest. We 're aiming to raise, with your help, £1,500 to purchase and install an AED within the church grounds.
According to the British Heart Foundation, in the UK, there are over 30,000 cardiac arrests a year
outside of hospital where the emergency medical services attempt to resuscitate the victim.
However, the survival rate is low, less than one in ten victims survive to
be discharged from hospital.
Every minute counts when someone has had a cardiac arrest. There are a few simple steps that anyone witnessing a cardiac arrest, or finding a victim, can
take to help save their life: calling 999, performing CPR (cardiopulmonary
resuscitation) and using an AED or PAD (public access defibrillator) if one is available.
